I am working on a Bandai 1/72 B-Wing kit. The kit is the Comic Con special edition model with a human pilot and battle damage to replicate the screen model seen below.
I designed a 3D part for the nozzle. The printed part is seen below. The installed and painted components added to the kit exhaust is seen in the first image. This kit was printed in 25 micron steps using our Form3 3D printer and Grey Resin.
The new nozzle replaces the kit part which lacks the screen detail in the center.
There was little preparation needed for the 3D part. Just tear the nozzle of the raft and file the remaining attachment points square.
Badger Stynylrez Grey Primer was used to prime the surface. The final color was Mission Models Aluminium, MMM-003.
The kit parts were painted with Mission Models Worn Black Grey Tires / Camo, MMP-105. The bands were done with Vallejo Metal Color 77.713 Jet Exhaust.
This part is now ready to light up. The goal is to use a RGB LED with either the kit supplied light tube or print one using the FormLabs Clear Resin.
